Reasons people call

A faucet that drips no matter how firmly it is closed, a toilet that keeps refilling on its own, water pooling around a base, a disposal that hums without turning, a shower valve that will not hold temperature, or a shutoff valve seized open so nothing can be isolated for repair. Small individually — but a running toilet wastes water continuously, and a corroded angle stop is what turns a simple job into a flooded room.

Repair or replace

Many fixtures are worth repairing: cartridges, seals, flappers, fill valves and trim are routine. Replacement makes more sense when a fixture is corroded through, parts are no longer available, or repeated repairs have added up. We tell you which case you are in and why, rather than defaulting to replacement.

Behind the fixture

Sometimes the fixture is fine and the problem is upstream. Weak flow at one tap can be an aerator; weak flow everywhere points to supply piping — see repiping. FAQs

Can I supply my own fixture? Yes. We will flag beforehand if there is a compatibility issue with existing connections.

Is a running toilet urgent? Not an emergency, but it wastes water continuously and is usually an inexpensive fix — see our toilet guide.

Do you replace angle stops? Yes — and it is worth doing when they are corroded, so the fixture can be isolated in future.
