By requesting or accepting our services, using our website, or opting in to receive text messages from us, you agree to these terms. Please also review our Privacy Policy.

Service Terms and Conditions

1. Definitions

The term “Contractor” refers to Professional Plumbing Services Inc. The term “Customer” refers to the person or entity contracting for the services of the Contractor. The term “Work” refers to the services, labor, and materials provided by the Contractor.

2. Site Conditions

Customer agrees to provide access to the job site, including the removal of any obstructions. Contractor shall not be responsible for damage due to hidden conditions, unsafe environments, or access limitations.

3. Limited Warranty

Contractor warrants its labor and materials for a period of one (1) year from the date of completion. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, acts of nature, or unauthorized repairs.

4. Unforeseen Conditions

If unforeseen or concealed conditions are discovered during performance of the Work, Contractor shall notify Customer, and the contract price shall be adjusted accordingly. Work shall not proceed until written authorization is provided.

5. Solution Not Performed

Contractor shall not be responsible for the inability to perform services due to unforeseen conditions, defective systems, or other causes beyond Contractor’s control.

6. Stoppages

Contractor shall not be liable for stoppages or blockages that recur due to structural defects, improper use, or accumulation of non-flushable materials.

7. License, Permits, and Fees

Contractor is licensed under the California State License Board #1027398. Customer shall be responsible for obtaining any necessary permits unless otherwise agreed in writing.

8. Payment

Payment is due upon completion of the Work unless otherwise specified in writing. Any balance not paid within fifteen (15) days of the invoice date shall accrue a finance charge of one and one-half percent (1.5%) per month (18% annually), or the maximum rate permitted by law, whichever is less. Customer agrees to pay all costs of collection, including reasonable attorney’s fees, court costs, lien preparation fees, and collection agency fees incurred by Contractor in recovering unpaid balances.

9. Right to Terminate in Event of Dispute

If Customer fails to make payments as agreed, Contractor reserves the right to terminate work immediately and pursue any and all remedies available under California Civil Code.

10. Notice of Defective Work

Customer must notify Contractor in writing within five (5) business days of discovering any alleged defects. Failure to provide timely notice shall void any warranty claims.

11. Services Not Covered

Contractor shall not be responsible for damages or issues resulting from unrelated systems, acts of third parties, or customer negligence.

12. Scope of Agreement

This document constitutes the full and complete agreement between the Contractor and Customer and supersedes all prior verbal or written agreements.

13. Pets and Onsite Safety

If pets are present at the property, they must be safely secured prior to the arrival of Professional Plumbing Services, Inc. technicians. The company is not responsible for any injury, loss, or escape of pets resulting from unsecured animals. In the event a pet causes harm, damage, or injury to a technician, the property owner or tenant shall be held fully liable.

14. Boilers and Water Heaters

When performing repairs requiring the temporary shutoff of a boiler, water heater, or recirculation system in single-family, multi-unit, or condominium buildings, Professional Plumbing Services, Inc. shall not be responsible if the equipment fails to restart or requires further servicing by another specialist after reactivation.

15. Aged or Compromised Drain and Sewer Lines

If drain, sewer, or waste piping is deteriorated, corroded, or fragile, Professional Plumbing Services, Inc. shall not be liable for leaks, breaks, or secondary damages that occur during or after service activities, including but not limited to snaking, hydro jetting, or flex shaft cleaning.

16. Unforeseen Conditions and Additional Work

Prices quoted are based on visible and known conditions at the time of inspection. Should hidden or unforeseen issues arise (e.g., broken toilet flanges, leaks inside walls, inaccessible piping), Professional Plumbing Services, Inc. will issue a revised estimate. Additional work will be billed separately upon client approval.

17. Drain and Sewer Line Warranty Limitations

If a drain or sewer line becomes clogged again during the warranty period due to misuse, foreign objects, non-biodegradable materials, or improper disposal by occupants, the warranty will be immediately void. Any subsequent service will be billed at standard rates.

18. Building Water Shutdowns

When building water supply is temporarily shut off for repairs, Professional Plumbing Services, Inc. shall not be held liable for any resulting issues with fixtures, faucets, or appliances caused by sediment or particle movement once water is restored. Any repairs or inspections needed due to these conditions will be billed as additional work.

18A. Sediment, Pressure Loss, and Fixture Disturbance After Water Restoration

When domestic water supply is shut off and restored in multi-unit buildings, HOA properties, or commercial systems, sediment, scale, rust, or mineral buildup within aging piping may become dislodged and travel through the plumbing system. This may result in temporary or permanent pressure loss, clogged aerators, blocked angle stops, cartridge failure, fixture malfunction, leaking faucets, running toilets, or related plumbing issues within individual units or common areas. Professional Plumbing Services, Inc. shall not be responsible for such conditions or resulting damages following restoration of water service. Any troubleshooting, repairs, fixture cleaning, cartridge replacement, or additional plumbing services required due to sediment disturbance shall be considered additional billable work.

19. Access and Scheduling

The property owner or authorized representative must provide safe and timely access to all work areas during scheduled hours. Delays due to inaccessibility, locked areas, or unprepared conditions (e.g., belongings not cleared, utilities unavailable) may result in additional labor charges or rescheduling fees.

20. Trip Fees, Rescheduling, and Standby Time

If technicians are unable to begin work due to conditions beyond the contractor’s control—such as tenant absence, locked units, or lack of HOA authorization—a minimum trip fee or hourly standby rate may apply.

21. Mold, Asbestos, or Hazardous Material Disclaimer

Contractor shall not be responsible for the presence, handling, or remediation of hazardous materials, including but not limited to asbestos, mold, or lead paint. If such materials are discovered, work will stop immediately, and the client shall hire a licensed abatement company before work continues.

22. Owner-Provided Materials

If the customer provides any materials, fixtures, or equipment, Professional Plumbing Services, Inc. assumes no responsibility for product quality, compatibility, or performance. Labor warranty applies only to installation workmanship.

22A. Reverse Osmosis (RO), Alkaline, and Drinking Water Filtration Systems

If it is necessary to disconnect, move, or reconnect any reverse osmosis (RO), alkaline, drinking water filtration, instant hot water dispenser, or similar under-sink water treatment system in order to perform plumbing or drain cleaning services, Professional Plumbing Services, Inc. shall not be responsible for leaks, fitting failures, tubing damage, valve failures, filter housing leaks, loss of water quality, reduced system performance, or any other malfunction occurring during or after reconnection. Many of these systems contain aging plastic components, proprietary fittings, and manufacturer-specific parts that may fail when disturbed or repressurized. Any repairs, replacement parts, troubleshooting, or reinstallation required due to the condition or failure of the system shall be considered additional billable work.

23. Completion and Cleanup

Contractor will remove debris and clean the immediate work area upon completion. Deep cleaning, sanitization, or post-construction cleanup are not included unless otherwise specified in writing.

24. Damage Limitation

Contractor shall not be liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of rent, business interruption, or property damage resulting from plumbing system failures or service interruptions.

25. Patching, Painting, and Aesthetic Repairs

Unless specifically stated in the estimate, patching, painting, tiling, flooring, or finish work following access openings are excluded. Contractor will leave openings ready for repair by others.

26. Authorization and Liability for Multi-Unit Work

In multi-unit properties, the property management or HOA representative is responsible for notifying all affected unit owners and tenants. Contractor shall not be held responsible for claims arising from lack of notice or coordination between units.

27. After-Hours and Emergency Work

After-hours or emergency services requested outside of normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM) are subject to an overtime rate and availability.

28. Electronic Authorization

Authorization via email, text, or other written communication constitutes binding approval to proceed with work and acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

Mechanic’s Lien Rights

Contractor reserves all rights provided under California law, including mechanic’s lien, stop notice, and bond claim rights where applicable. Failure to make timely payment may result in Contractor exercising such rights.
